The handmade plate decorates fine creations as well as simple dishes and accompanies with its visual combination of everyday and special through life.

The conically opening, large plate shows itself with its unglazed edge as an everyday object with that certain something. It was manufactured in the center of Portugal in a manufactory.

The large plate of our collection ABERTA is available in three glazes and was produced sustainably and fairly. Glazed and unglazed, stoneware is suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher.

With our matte glazes, cutlery abrasion may occur over time. However, this is only superficial and can usually be easily removed with baking soda and a soft cloth.

Care should be taken not to expose the ceramic to dramatic temperature changes (e.g. pouring hot liquid into an ice-cold bowl or cup), as this can cause cracking.

Collection Aberta

Our third ceramic collection is produced in a ceramic factory in central Portugal. The factory was founded in 1988 by a family that has a long tradition in the ceramic industry and has more than fifty years of experience in ceramic manufacturing.

Over the years, the company has continually evolved without detaching itself from the traditional component that characterizes the Alcobaça region. Among other things, they have specialized in hand-painting. We are very fond of this combination of tradition and modernity.

Our ABERTA collection is the first collection that we are having produced in Alcobaça.

FOOD CULTURE

For many, high-quality food has become a fundamental part of their life culture. Conscious nutrition and organically grown food are experiencing a new cult.

Eating also means rest and enjoyment. It is often the time when family members come together from their individual lives and spend time together around the table. Intense communication takes place during this ritual, which otherwise often finds little space.

With onomao ceramics we try to contribute to this culture of life. Through sustainable production and fair manufacturing conditions, they extend the cycle of conscious food intake. Our desire is to develop durable products that visually embellish the ritual of eating for many years.
