Small and sleek in design, our mini plate sits elegantly on a delicate base. It has been handcrafted in a workshop in northern Portugal.

Some things don’t need much space. A slice of rhubarb cake with coffee, a warm croissant in the morning, a few apple slices for a snack – the mini plate provides a simple, elegant setting for these small treats. And for those who like candles on the table: it works a treat there too.

The mini plate is handmade stoneware tableware, available in several glazes and produced sustainably and fairly. Stoneware, whether glazed or unglazed, is dishwasher-safe and can even be used in the oven.

KLASSIK is our understated stoneware tableware collection: delicate, rounded forms that fit seamlessly together. Each piece rests on a small, unglazed base that gives the shape a simple stage. Designed with clear functionality in mind, this ceramic tableware integrates naturally into everyday life – calm in expression, yet lively as a whole. Handcrafted in Portugal, it carries both character and durability.

The collection is available in various glazes and color worlds: matte dove blue feels refined and tranquil, while the hand-painted version with blue-and-white stripes makes a bold statement on the table. Whether plates, bowls, or mugs – all forms combine consistently to create a harmonious set for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Practical in use: KLASSIK is made from durable stoneware, dishwasher-safe, and ovenproof. This makes the ceramics ideal for everyday life – and a lasting joy at the table.

FOOD CULTURE

For many, high-quality food has become a fundamental part of their life culture. Conscious nutrition and organically grown food are experiencing a new cult.

Eating also means rest and enjoyment. It is often the time when family members come together from their individual lives and spend time together around the table. Intense communication takes place during this ritual, which otherwise often finds little space.

With onomao ceramics we try to contribute to this culture of life. Through sustainable production and fair manufacturing conditions, they extend the cycle of conscious food intake. Our desire is to develop durable products that visually embellish the ritual of eating for many years.

THE KLASSIK CERAMICS MANUFACTORY

In the course of developing our second tableware collection KLASSIK, we went in search of another ceramic manufactory. We landed at a family business, which sits in the rolling hills behind Porto. The family looks back on a long ceramic tradition. Working with clay has been consistently passed down and specialized from generation to generation.

Our KLASSIK collection is hand tamped before a drying process to clean and refine it to be glazed before firing. Creative hand-painting is one of the manufactory's hobbyhorses. Thus KLASSIK gets her stripes missed in loving handwork in the small studio.

How do I remove cutlery debris from my plates?

With our matte glazes, cutlery abrasion may occur over time. However, this is only superficial and can usually be easily removed with baking soda and a soft cloth.

Are the plates dishwasher safe?

The small plates may be cleaned in the dishwasher. Stoneware is a particularly resistant material, which means that the items will not be damaged by the mechanical stress and cleaning agents in the dishwasher.

How do I care for my tableware to keep it in good condition for a long time?

The onomao products are designed for a long durability. They are dishwasher, oven and microwave safe. Handle your dinnerware with care and be careful not to expose it to drastic temperature changes, as this can cause cracking. With our matte glazes, cutlery abrasion may occur over time.
