3 facts about our glasses made from recycled glass

The material

Our glasses are hand-blown in a family-run factory in Portugal and impress with their unique finish. Each glass is unique with air bubbles of varying intensity, which give it a special charm. Production begins with a glass mass made from 80% recycled glass and melted in a furnace at high temperatures. This glass mass is then hand-blown, giving each piece its individual shape. Glass is a timeless material that is valued for its durability and versatility. Our glasses combine traditional craftsmanship with a modern, environmentally conscious approach - ideal for the conscious connoisseur.

The design

Our glasses are characterized by their simple and timeless design with a flat base and straight walls. Available in two practical sizes: small with a capacity of 150 ml and large with a capacity of 300 ml, they are real all-rounders. Glasses set the scene for the perfect mixing ratio for a latte macchiato in the morning or a cocktail in the evening. Also available as a set with a glass carafe, ideal for white wine spritzers. Each drinking glass is unique, mouth-blown from 80% recycled material and with an individual air bubble effect. Bring style and lightness to your table.

GLASS – WHERE IT COMES FROM AND WHAT IT DOES TO US

The oldest man-made glass probably dates back to around 3500 BC in the Near East. Glass was produced as a by-product of glazes.
From that moment on, this form of production has never left humanity alone. The fascination with the stable and transparent material continues to this day.
We associate purity, joy, refreshment, aesthetics and much more with glasses. They are part of our everyday lives and adorn billions of display cabinets, kitchen cabinets and dining tables around the world. They are thrown into the air at major celebrations such as weddings, New Year's Eve parties or birthdays and faces beaming with joy look at them with enthusiasm. We associate countless rituals with them. Glass is part of our lives and that is what makes it so valuable.

Yes, the glasses can be cleaned in the dishwasher without any problems

How high is the proportion of recycled glass?

The glasses are made from 80% recycled glass. Unfortunately, the use of 100% recycled glass is currently not possible in Portugal, as the recycling process works differently there than in Germany.

Where are the glasses made?

The glasses are mouth-blown in a family-run factory in the Marinha Grande region. The region in the north of Portugal is known for its work with glass.

My glasses have different numbers of bubbles, is this a fault?

Our glasses are mouth-blown. To create the bubble effect, the mouth blowers sprinkle some powder (sodium) onto the molten glass before giving them their shape. As this is a genuine handmade process, the quantity, size and placement of the bubbles are absolutely unique from piece to piece.
