Our MINI PLATE comes from a family manufactory in Portugal, made by hand. The minimalist shape and the fine curvature on the rim give it a simple, traditional design.

Ideal for a small breakfast, olives or bread with olive oil beforehand, the MINI TELLER is an unobtrusive companion on the table. Despite its small size, it offers a clear stage for fine details and small dishes.

The MINI PLATE from our TRADITIONAL collection is available in various glazes and is produced fairly and sustainably. Made from stoneware, it is dishwasher-safe and ovenproof. It is available in many different glazes. Together with the MINI BOWL, it makes a lovely set for the little ones.

Details

Care Instructions

• Dish washer safe
• Oven safe (up to 200°C)

With our matte glazes, cutlery abrasion may occur over time. However, this is only superficial and can usually be easily removed with baking soda and a soft cloth.

Care should be taken not to expose the ceramic to dramatic temperature changes (e.g. pouring hot liquid into an ice-cold bowl or cup), as this can cause cracking.

TRADITIONELL – timeless ceramics from Portugal

TRADITIONELL is our first tableware collection: minimal in form, timeless in expression. The steep rim of soup plates, meze plates, and tapas plates defines its distinctive design – robust, clear, and rooted in Portuguese craftsmanship. Made for everyday use, the stoneware – glazed or unglazed – is dishwasher-safe and even ovenproof.

The collection is available in a variety of mostly reactive glazes that can be consistently combined. The result is a table setting that endures – plates, bowls, and cups in harmonious color variations, all handmade in Portugal.

FOOD CULTURE

For many, high-quality food has become a fundamental part of their life culture. Conscious nutrition and organically grown food are experiencing a new cult.

Eating also means rest and enjoyment. It is often the time when family members come together from their individual lives and spend time together around the table. Intense communication takes place during this ritual, which otherwise often finds little space.

With onomao ceramics we try to contribute to this culture of life. Through sustainable production and fair manufacturing conditions, they extend the cycle of conscious food intake. Our desire is to develop durable products that visually embellish the ritual of eating for many years.

Close relationship: our first ceramic producer

Every company can surely reflect on that one relevant collaboration that has fundamentally accompanied and shaped the path of individual development. For us, it's the collaboration with Mario.

Mario grew up in a pottery family and had just taken over the management of the family business at the beginning of onomao when we were looking for a manufacturer to be able to establish onomao.

The TRADITIONELL collection is produced, among others, in Mario’s manufactory. Since 2018, all shapes have been created here using clay sourced from the region. Along this journey — from the first prototypes to today’s series — we have learned a great deal about materials, processes, and durability.
