GLASS - WHERE IT COMES FROM AND WHAT IT DOES TO US
The oldest man-made glass probably dates back to around 3500 BC from the Near East. Glass was produced as a by-product of glazes. From that moment on, mankind was fascinated by this form of production. The fascination with this stable and transparent material continues to this day. We associate purity, joy, refreshment, aesthetics and much more with glass. They are part of our everyday lives and adorn billions of display cabinets, kitchen cupboards and dining tables around the world. They are thrown into the air at major festivities such as weddings, New Year's Eve celebrations or birthdays and faces with beams of joy gaze at them with enthusiasm. We associate countless rituals with them. Glass is part of our lives and that is what makes it so valuable.
