3 facts about our carafes
Our handmade carafes are available in ceramic or glass. Stylish serving of water, lemonade or iced tea from unique Portuguese pieces. Also perfect as a decorative jug for flowers.
The design
The handmade carafes made of ceramic or hand-blown glass from Portugal combine thousands of years of traditional craftsmanship with modern design. They are characterized by their timeless, simple design with straight lines, flat base and a generous opening with a lid. The traditional ceramic vases in natural colors have a dipped glaze that combines the natural tone with color accents and are complemented by a handle. In addition to the traditional collection, there is the "Aberta" line, which impresses with a conical shape and classic white with a subtle color rim in blue or orange. Just like the glass carafes, these do not have a handle, which further underlines their simple, slim look. Carafes can be used in many ways as drinking vessels - for coffee, milk or tea as well as water or iced tea - or as decorative elements.
The material
The three collections of handmade carafes from Portugal impress not only with their timeless design, but also with the selection of high-quality materials. Our stoneware ceramics, a natural product, are fired at high temperatures, which makes the products robust and largely waterproof. They are then glazed using a special technique: the product is partially dipped in color, about 1/3 or 2/3, while the rest remains natural or white. The “Aberta” collection, on the other hand, is fully glazed and the hand-painted rim in blue or orange adds a color accent. The mouth-blown glass carafes come from a Portuguese family business that has preserved decades of craftsmanship tradition. Due to the manual manufacturing process, each carafe is unique and is characterized by a characteristic air bubble effect. Our glass carafes are made of 80% recycled material. All products are produced sustainably, combining traditional craftsmanship with ecological responsibility.
The sizes
Our carafes are available in three different modern designs and they vary slightly in size: The traditional ceramic carafe holds over a liter at 1200 ml, measures 21 cm in height and has a diameter of 11 cm. The "Aberta" carafe with its conical shape is 20 cm high, has a diameter of 10.5 cm and a capacity of 850 ml. The glass carafe is the smallest: with a height of 18 cm, a diameter of 9 cm and a volume of 750 ml. Carafes are ideal for water, iced tea or lemonade, but can also be used very flexibly as a coffee or milk jug. Fine drinks such as cocktails also look wonderful, especially in the glass carafe.
