More than just a place to stay, Casa Lawa is a space to gather, cook, host, and create. Lukas is known for his unique sense of aesthetics, his deep love for food, vibrant colors and connecting people.
With a background in psychology, fashion, hospitality, and curation, he brings an intuitive, layered perspective to everything he does.
For the collaboration with onomao, Lukas has co-created a collection that celebrates playfulness, community, and the joy of a shared table.
In this interview, Lukas speaks about the moments and memories that shaped his path, his creative rituals, and what he hopes people feel when they bring this collection into their homes.

Tell us a bit about yourself: for example: what’s your favorite time of day, and how do you love to spend it?
I’m Lukas—creative director, host, food lover, and collector of beautiful things. My favorite time of day is just before dinner: that hour when the table’s being set, someone’s preparing aperitivo in the kitchen, and I'm setting the music playlist.
Food plays a central role in your life—what’s your ultimate comfort dish, and what memories does it bring back? A plate of pasta al pomodoro. Always. It reminds me of what I love the most in food: simplicity, and my childhood, a full garden of tomatoes.
When you first saw the onomao tableware, what feeling did it stir in you?
Excitement and pride. It felt like something that had lived inside me, something I saw at the table, like a part of me had turned to ceramic.

The collection includes a charming cat —what was the imaginative spark behind this playful piece?
Honestly? Pure joy and love to our cat who passed two years ago. I wanted one piece that didn’t take itself too seriously but reminded me of my cat, who was the funniest. Something for the child in all of us.
You’ve shared that colors mean something to you, for example yellow Stands for enthusiasm : how did you translate those feelings into the palette and forms of the collection?
Colors hold energy for me. Yellow is for joy, blue for calm, red for warmth. We picked shades that felt like Sicily in the afternoon—sun-kissed & vibrant.
Before Casa Lawa, you studied psychology, ran a vintage shop, styled, and worked in hospitality—how did these chapter build-ups lead you to this ceramics collaboration?
Every chapter taught me something: Psychology gave me intuition, vintage taught me the art of finding treasure, styling sharpened my eye, and hospitality taught me how to make people feel something. Ceramics brought it all together.
Have you ever struggled creatively? If so, how did you overcome it—and what wisdom would you offer someone facing a creative slump today?
Of course. I still do. When I’m stuck, I go for a swim or cook something with my hands. My advice: stay curious, step away for a moment, and come back with a softer heart.

Among the items in our collection, which one is your Favorite piece , and what makes it special to you?
Peanut, our butter dish. He’s chunky, cheeky, and makes even a weekday breakfast feel like a moment.
When people use pieces from the onomao × Casa Lawa Collection, what emotional or sensory moment are you hoping they experience?
A sense of home. A pause. That feeling when someone passes you a plate and your eyes meet and there’s nothing that needs to be said.
Beyond function, what lasting effect do you wish this collection to have—for yourselves, for onomao, and for everyone who brings it to their table?
That people slow down. Share more meals, and make their tables colorful. That these pieces become part of birthdays, Saturdays breakfast, celebrations, maybe even breakups, a real life.
