3 facts about our stoneware dessert plates

The size

Our small dessert plates are ideal for little treats such as ice cream, sorbet and mousse. Their height and shape make them easy to stack, which keeps storage simple. They are also a great fit for cake. All plates are made by hand in Portugal.

The material

Our dessert plates are sustainably crafted from stoneware in a manufactory in Portugal. Unlike earthenware, stoneware is fired at higher temperatures, making it denser, less porous, and more durable. As a result, the dessert plates are robust and long-lasting. They can be easily cleaned in the dishwasher and are safe for oven use.

The design

Our dessert plates are made from stoneware in a manufactory in Portugal. Unlike earthenware, stoneware is fired at higher temperatures, which makes it denser, less porous and more hard-wearing. That makes these plates well suited to everyday use. They are easy to clean in the dishwasher and can also be heated in the oven.

Culinary Culture

For many people, good food has become an essential part of how they live. Mindful eating and organically grown produce are enjoying a real revival. Eating also means slowing down and taking pleasure in the moment. It is often the point in the day when family members step out of their separate lives and spend time together at the table. This ritual makes room for the kind of close conversation that otherwise rarely finds space. With onomao ceramics, we want to contribute to this way of living and to eating with more awareness. Our aim is to create long-lasting pieces that make the ritual of eating a little more beautiful, year after year.
