ABERTA – SUMMER ON THE TABLE

In summer, the table often becomes the longest place of the day. ABERTA belongs there – eight essential pieces that join in, whether it's on the balcony in the morning, after a sporty match, or late at night outdoors: plates, cups, and bowls that see a lot between breakfast and the last glass of wine.
Stable yet delicate, understated yet open. "Aberta" means "open" in Portuguese – this suits the conical shape that widens upwards and the feeling when people stay longer than planned. A hand-painted rim in orange or blue frames each piece. Made in Portugal, each piece is unique.

Handmade dinnerware from Portugal

The materials

Our tableware is handmade in manufactories in Portugal. Our Traditional, Classic, and Aberta collections are made of ceramic, specifically stoneware. The Pura collection is made of porcelain. Due to the high firing temperature, the pieces are particularly robust and durable. They are also glazed and unglazed suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher.

The design

The crockery is available in many different designs and glazes. The designs are created in close cooperation between our team in Cologne and our producers in Portugal. Modern forms meet traditional Portuguese craftsmanship. Depending on the collection, the crockery is matte or glossy, fully or only half-glazed. Thanks to its timeless appearance, the individual designs can also be combined with each other.

Dinnerware sets

Our ceramic and porcelain dinnerware is also available in practical sets. These include sets of individual products for 2, 4, 6 or 12 people with a quantity discount, as well as pre-assembled dinnerware sets for breakfast, coffee, or dinner. Do you want to get creative and put together your own individual combination dinnerware set? "Mix & Match" offers you the opportunity to choose different colors and shapes according to your taste.

Questions & Answers

more Questions & Answers
To what extent do the products differ from the photos in the online store?

Due to the handmade production, all products differ slightly among themselves in shape, color and texture. This makes each piece unique and gives the products their individual charm.

Where are the products made?

We manufacture most of our products in Portugal. Our glasses products are made in the north of Spain.

Are the products manufactured sustainably?

The onomao products are made in manufactories in Portugal. This means they have shorter transport routes and less CO2 is emitted. We use only recycled or natural materials from the region. In order not to waste resources, we also buy products with small blemishes from our manufactures.

How do I take care of my tableware to keep it in good condition for a long time?

onomao products are designed for long-term use. They are dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe. Treat your tableware with care and avoid exposing it to drastic temperature changes, as this can cause cracking. With our matte glazes, cutlery marks may appear over time. However, these are only superficial and can usually be easily removed with baking soda and a soft cloth.
