GLASS – WHERE IT COMES FROM AND WHAT IT DOES TO US
The oldest man-made glass probably dates back to around 3500 BC in the Near East. Glass was produced as a by-product of glazes.
From that moment on, this form of production has never left humanity alone. The fascination with the stable and transparent material continues to this day.
We associate purity, joy, refreshment, aesthetics and much more with glasses. They are part of our everyday lives and adorn billions of display cabinets, kitchen cabinets and dining tables around the world. They are thrown into the air at major celebrations such as weddings, New Year's Eve parties or birthdays and faces beaming with joy look at them with enthusiasm. We associate countless rituals with them. Glass is part of our lives and that is what makes it so valuable.
